De: "I'll never vote for a politician's family member."

Didn't you vote for Bush Jr? ;->

Or even Bush Sr? (son of politician http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prescott_Bush)

So, see? You CAN vote for a politician's family member! Isn't it good to know you have some behavioral flexibility? ;-)

Normally I'd also be adverse to voting for a close relative of a former politician. And I didn't vote for EITHER of the 2000 and 2008 main party candidate, partly for that reason. But I consider this a time worth an exception. Beliefs which cannot be updated by facts act contrary to survival and intelligence.

But there is MORE to it than that. I'm not asking you to vote for JFK Jr. over Trump. I'm suggesting you support both of them...now. And, if they prove worthy over the next 1.5 years, and voting for them is in your best interests, and they are viable as a winner, to make your final voting decision at that time. (If they are not viable as a winner, then just know you are voting on a Pavlovian or principled basis, only, and not really being a strictly rational steward of your time on earth. I look for outcome, usually, or I don't vote).

Intelligence is, if anything, the ability to adapt to a changing future as curveballs are thrown our way. In my case, perhaps I have the liberty of not being ideologically chained inside a political party and a fixed belief system? (Values are not beliefs)

I'll never vote for a politician's family member. For this reason, I oppose New Hampshire's governor. He might be a good governor, but he's the son of former Governor John H. Sununu. I won't vote for a Kennedy, or a Clinton, or an Obama, or a Huckabee. Or a Newsom. Or any of Trump's kids. They're all political royalty and the United States doesn't need that.
