Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream is a super-woke and left-wing business. In a supreme twist of irony, this Seattle company is suing the city because they got exactly what they asked for.
Readers will remember the infamous “Summer of Love” in Seattle during 2020, when the police abandoned their East Precinct building on Capitol Hill, and the so-called “CHAZ” (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone) was created, and then renamed “CHOP” (Capitol Hill Organized Protest). CHOP had everything – a community garden, its own warlord, murders, and most importantly, NO POLICE.
This has obviously become a huge point of legal contention, both during and after the fact, as residents and businesses complained that they weren’t being protected from the crazy people trying to create their own “autonomous zone,” and the families of the two teenagers who were killed have sued the city (one has settled). Seattle finally shut down CHOP after over three weeks of chaos. In the aftermath, police chief Carmen Best resigned, Mayor Jenny Durkan decided to not seek re-election, and the taxpayers of Seattle have been left holding the bag for their leaders’ bad decisions and attempts to cover up and deflect responsibility for the whole thing.
Enter Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream. The owner, Molly Moon Neitzel, is a huge leftist. The company website even brags about it.

But after CHOP was cleared out, Molly Moon’s decided to go one step further and ban armed police from the Capitol Hill store.

Well, the truth as Molly Moon Neitzel now sees it is that she is OWED DAMAGES by the city of Seattle for… wait for it… her lost revenue.
NEW: Molly Moon’s Ice Cream is suing the City of Seattle because of losses tied to CHOP.
The ice cream maker accuses the city of supporting and encouraging “a hostile occupation” of the neighborhood surrounding their Pine Street store.
Oh yes, Molly Moon’s is suing the city for allowing CHOP to take over the Capitol Hill area and block their business, while STILL SUPPORTING CHOP.
