Have you followed up on the problem? Because not all cases of heart failure are the same.

In 2021, I posted (to you, I believe) that my clogged valve had caused heart failure, with likely permanent damage. My cardiologist was not overly concerned about it because the surgery had removed the cause of the failure. At this point, I am confident that I could play tennis or backpack up a small mountain. I'm okay. Even my lousy sleep habits are improving.

That's why I asked you if you had been examined to determine the cause of your congestive heart failure. If the cause was the blockages that you had bypassed, then your heart may not get any worse and may even improve. And even if your heart can't improve, the cause of your CHF should be determined in case the cause can be treated to stop the deterioration.

You need to learn about your condition and not just take an "Oh well. I guess I've only got five years" attitude. There may well be things you and your doctors can do to significantly extend that.

Congenital Heart Failure.

If you read about it and the average length of time a person who has this lives after they have been diagnosed, it is on AVERAGE 5 years.. Not ten...

I don't want to be as old Ribit when I die anyway..

That's a little discouraging because it is not very long in the scheme of time..

So I guess I had best get my affairs in order and make sure Miz micro can find everything that will affect her without any difficulty and get her hands on the savings and investments since she will lose what she gets in social security (half of what I get), so that will be one third less money plus there won't be anymore normal income from consulting.

Like most, we owe nothing and have no debt. Everything is paid for.. I guess I better finish the remodeling projects before I depart...

I am a bit bummed out as longevity runs in my family on the male side. Amazing how quickly our plans can be turned upside down..
