So this is rather surprising to say the least.”Some of the Republicans who voted against the bill are defending themselves by saying that the massive fine Schiff would have received set a dangerous precedent that Democrats would almost certainly employ the next time they are in charge. The fine was something like a 90 year salary penalty. IMO, their excuse is not good enough. Democrats, and Schiff in particular, have already declared all-out war on Republicans. Failing to respond in kind out of fear of what they might do next is cowardly and dumb.
