I do not eat pizza but maybe twice in a year but over my years that amounts to a lot of different stores.
I prefer ones where the owners are from either Greece or Italy becuiase they know what real pizza is and how to make it, not in high volume production mode and sacrifice ingredients.
And the sauce is the most important element. IT MUST contain plenty of GARLIC so gthat one can taste it.. Almost none of these brand name pizza box stores make anything worth eating. I can eat dough with some spaghetti sauce thrown over it afetr it bakes in an oven and almost have the same thing.. Nasty...
Consequently, I despise Dominos pizza because it tastes like cardboard and lacks Italian or Greek real flavors and crusts..
I always wondered why people buy that brand of pizza. Advertising perhaps... It sure wasn;t for being extremely good and authentic. Maybe it was for being cheap...
MAss produced stuff is rarely held to high standards and keeps them.. Especially foods. Like Dominos.
I am grateful for the Greek Pizza owner locally who came here across the pond and legally became a citizen and opened up one store he worked at himself and made great pizza with lots of sauce and cheeses and flavor..
His formula has never changed and he now has over 25 stores. He keeps growing. We gooccasionally to the original one he opened about five miles from our house and dine in the large seating room for eat in customers.
I wouldn't walk across my sidewalk to get free Dominos.
I cannot say that PUTRID JOHN'S is much better and may be worse.
I'll stick to the small places that have great roots and family tradition and do notcheat on quality or ingredients because their names and family's name is on it...
Go away Domino's and don't come back.. We'll all be better off.. YMMV........
