That the Liberals don't promote liberty (from government) and Conservatives don't practice much conservation (conservation of liberty; conservation of use of deadly force; conservation of nature; conservation of tax dollars wasted in foreign lands; etc.)
Conservative and Liberal have now become, too often, two different sides of the same coin: bigger government...lesser freedom.
