Yes, complicated but the lines are clear. With two parties in the US there is a bunch of critters hiding under the “conservative” party cover, and some under the “democrat” cover.
The problem we have is the far right and the so called Christian whites are in charge of the GOP, a minority in America that is bent on imposing its will on all of America.
Ages ago, 1976, our young lady tour guide, of ancient Greek sites, privately told us she supported the communist party, mainly because it pushed against the theocracy of those times. We were young, unaware at the time of the internal politics, just went to see the foundation of civilization, a group of Americans on a small ship, having a great time, learning to like Ouzo, Retsina... Always thought we were going to go back, on our own, but we ended up in many other countries, instead, as it turned out..
