BREAKING: Supreme Court paves the way for Louisiana congressional districts to be redrawn
The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed Louisiana’s appeal seeking to prevent the state’s congressional map being redrawn over claims it unlawfully dilutes the influence of Black voters. The decision, which comes after the court’s ruling earlier this month in a similar case on Alabama’s congressional districts, should lead to a new map being drawn in which Black voters would be able to elect representatives in two of the state’s six congressional districts instead of one.
