Re: “So, when yer old and do a bunch of stuff that you normally don't do, there is a aching muscle and joint price to pay..”
I'm sure I told you that 3 ½ years after my surgery, I am not back to normal. At this point, I'm resigned to never feeling exactly the way I used to. Oh well. It's a lot better than the alternative.

Every one or two weeks, I need to draw a little blood and determine how quickly it coagulates. I have a meter for that. The Thursdays when I have to do it are called "Bloody Thursdays," and today was one such. To help me remember which ones are and are not Bloody Thursdays, I've been keeping a dime in my pill minder, either in the first morning slot or the second. If it's in the first morning slot, then it means it's a Bloody Thursday.

The problem is, I'm now taking so many pills that the dime is pretty well concealed. And because I don't want to drop a pill, I've gotten into the habit of practically pouring the pill minder contents straight into my mouth.

No, I didn't swallow the dime. But I came *that* close to doing so today. I was actually sloshing the pills around with a big gulp of water when I wondered what it was that was clacking against my teeth! LOL.

I'm getting old. It's time to come up with a new system.

After that, my day consisted of making a phone call to my buddy in Philadelphia to discuss the new book that we are reading, "All Shook Up: How Rock 'n' Roll Changed America," then heading off to an auction pick-up location to get some of yesterday's winnings ... one lot of lamp shades, and three lots of silver. I'll post a photo of one of the silver batches at the bottom of this message.

Then, we spent an hour at a thrift store that had nothing good, then hit a store and bought a 9x12 rug for the Master Bedroom, went to the new house to unload, then spent a few hours setting up some things, and packing & inventorying various items already brought there.

We were gone over eight hours. Our poor dawg nearly had a bladder-burst when he saw us.

So that was OUR day. Tomorrow and Saturday are likely to be busy as well. I'm coordinating with an on-line seller to buy a really nice "portable island" for the kitchen. The biggest issue is its weight. He says it has to be carried down stairs. While that probably wouldn't be an issue for YOU, micro, wimpy old Decomposed might just struggle with it.

Once it's out of the seller's house, all is golden. We've got a flatbed trailer that will make transporting it a breeze, and I know someone who can help get it into the new house if we can't do it alone.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

I "THINK" I said sometime recently that Miz micro wanted the second bathroom remodeled. And like the well behaved and great spouse that I am not, I went ahead and began doing what she wanted.

Upon gutting the bathroom of unnecessary things like double sink vanity and top, removing the commode, taking down the wall cabinets, and then repairing nicks and places thathad happened over the years, sanding everything smooth, wiping everything off with damp cloths, I repainted the room.

It was a lot of fun.... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Mr. Green

But I hung in there and kept going. I then began the hunt for replacement vanity and new vanity top and of course, new tile flooring.. After all, what bathroom is not complete without a new floor whether it needs it or not????

My son in law was kind enough to come over and lay down the flooring for me. He did a great job..

He then assisted me in putting up the New vanity cabinet, but before that I had to repair some plumbing issues with old valve bodies for the water to the toilet as well as the vanity and sink..

Thank GOD for SharkBite valve fixtures. They really do make life simpler.. (I like simple) Especially when I am doing Manual labor..

So with that accomplished it was on to the install of new vanity and sink top, and then itw as time to replace the commode. New Kohler toilet with comfort height. Nice.

When it was over, I paid my son in law for his time and great help which he wanted to refuse. I forced him to allow me to pay him because he spent a lot of time here and he did great work. I know he does not need the money.. I told him to take my daughter to a real nice restaurant for their anniversary. He then agreed.

Scripture tells us that the Laborer, (the person doing the work) is worthy of their hire (pay) So while I know he would have gladly done this work for me and never ask for a dime, I could not allow that to happen.

Anyway, as it got closer to evening and bedtime I began to hurt like I had been beaten up in a New York subway attack.. My lower spine and the new hip area screamed like they were just surgically repaired.

Because of the heart, I can't take any pain meds except Tylenol.. This morning the saga continued plus my heart area aches also.. I guess the chest wall muscles are letting me know I do not use them often enough..

So, when yer old and do a bunch of stuff that you normally don't do, there is a aching muscle and joint price to pay..
And the next time yer misses has this great idea, don;t doit all yerself or even any of it. HIRE someone and save yerself a lot of pain all night and the next day..

I did get about three hours sleep last night combined on three different beds I tried... Finally around 4:00 a.m. I went back to my normal bed where miz micro was snoring but I laid down and tried to get a little sleep there.

I think I got some before the dog jumped on me..

So I am tired, crotchety, cranky, grumpy, but pleasant to be around today... Cheesy Grin Thumbs Up

Sincerely hope everyone else got some Z's in.

With that said,

I NEED to go lay down because I have reached the end of my ability to keep going. I am bone tired.

Catch y'all later!

micro...
