You should watch the Town Hall before being too quick to turn RFK Jr's. response into a war on guns. You should watch the JFK Jr's recording, anyway. As I have said many times, most people, on either side of the silly left-right dichotomy, are going to find something to dislike about him. But I believe you might see the bigger picture I see.

To help restore the Republic, RFK Jr's path CANNOT be the exact same path as Trump, or he will contribute nothing toward healing the divide and attracting the "Never Trumpers".

I have plenty of things I disagree with Trump on, fairly strongly. I supported and support him anyway. I have no overwhelming problem with similarly supporting JFK Jr. Indeed, Trump has (at least so far) mostly expressed respect for JFK Jr. JFK Jr. has, similarly, stayed away from insulting Trump.

Obama could have banned semi-automatic weapons in 2010 through the mechanism you so casually describe and support. He could have even described his action as bipartisan with the help of just one or two RINO allies.

What we're talking about is a clear violation of one of our Constitutional rights. It's not supposed to be permissible except by first amending the Constitution. This occurs at the State level, not through Federal overreach. I am frankly shocked that you're okay with weakening our rights through unConstitutional action.

Gun rights protect our country from enemies both foreign and domestic. Without them, odds are good that all of our rights would go away. They are the citizens' only and last defense against tyranny.
