I don't have a problem with what he said re 'assault weapons', and I listened to the whole thing. As I said, he defended 2nd Amendment at pretty good length to begin with. Then he said "IF BOTH SIDES OF CONGRESS" send me a bill...
So he's got lots of leeway before that should be an issue. And if he wins the Presidency (BIG "if") it means he will have a lot of Democrats backing him, and open to his preferences.
Anyway, I think you are putting the cart about a thousand miles in front of the horse. Why don't you worry more about what he MIGHT do about the 2nd Amendment after he defeats Biden -- and just support his candidacy until then? Unless you like Biden, better, that is.
And don't you think the Republican super majority in the Supreme Court might have something to say about the issue, even IF he gets elected and IF Republicans flip sides to pass an Assault Weapons ban?
And, at the end of the day, as De pointed out, Assault weapons aren't clearly defined. That could be bad, of course, but a definition will have to be agreed to. And I expect ther are some guns I am okay with banning.
But, Zim, I never expected you to give up those wars you LOVE so much. So Kennedy couldn't get your vote, anyway. Indeed, I don't even believe you really will support Trump, this time around, and maybe not even the last time, for that very reason.
Trump has made crystal clear that he will end US shipping weapons to Ukraine on day one. Isn't that a showstopper for you??
