As I study and read more and more about our nations beginnings and those men and women who who stood up and said "THIS ISN'T RIGHT" and yet still tried to reconcile those differences with King George 3rd to no avail, I try to put myself into their situation and circumstances and wonder if I would have the courage of conviction to do what they actually did.

Think of those men and boys who stood toe to toe at less than 50 yards across from the British Regulars and somehow, miraculously not only survived, but actually won a battle.

Think of the horrendous wounds these boys and men suffered from a musket ball. Shattered bones, horrible holes thru their bodies with their insides hanging out.

And yet, they ALL willingly sacrificed their very lives for the freedom to govern themselves and gave the fortunes some had accumulated like Hancock, and did it willingly for the price of freedom. Hancock lost is wealth to help fund the American Revolution. He was a hunted man by the British as were lots of the leaders and still, they continued on thru to the finish..

I cannot imagine what those people endured and gladly suffered for the price of freedom. The civilians suffered under brutality and revenge without remorse from the British tyrants. The people united under one flagfor a just cause that would determine how they would spend the remaining years of their lives, and their children and grandchildren.

Ribit and I both served in the military in Vietnam. I was a combat Marine. Where I was at, I did not want to be. But I was well equipped to defend myself and repel an enemy.. It was hot, very humid, and our medic was far better than anything they had during our Revolutionary War and fight for freedom. It was a privilege to serve and not a burden.

I know the two things are not the same. AS I reflect on the horrors of war and what the civilians went through , much less those brave men and boys who knew they likely would be wounded or killed but volunteered anyway, I am so humbled at their bravery and what they ALL endured for the price of being a free nation, Under God and United.

May the Lord God of Heaven forgive us of our Sins and have mercy upon us. I pray that He would still watch over us and bless us as a nation and grant us freedom and Liberty as HE has done from our beginning. May we the people ever give our thanks and praise to Him who has provided us the privilege to be born here and live here, and raise our families here in the United States of America! The greatest land in the world even though it has some flaws created by some..

THANK YOU FATHER for your watch care and faithfulness to us even though we are not always faithful to you! Bless us as a country and give light and guidance to those who are in positions of authority and power so that we may live peaceable lives and we will give you all the praise, all the credit and Thanksgiving for all you have done as long as we are alive here on earth.. In the Name of Jesus Christ, that Name which is above every name we do praise you and thank you for America,
AMEN, and Amen!
