I don't think either Zim or Ribit would come back with a retort like you suggested MIGHT or maybe could happen.

IMO, and I cannot speak for Ribs or Zim, but Putin is a killer. Period. He is cold blooded and does not care who he kills of they are perceived by him as threat to his power or grandiose ideas and schemes.

I did not hate Gorbachev. I actually thought he was a leader worthy of respect for working with Reagan to finally let go of their hold over East Berlin and kinda bring somewhat of an end to the cold war era. It took great courage for him to do that.

Putin is a cold blooded assassin. Period. He has an ego that has no borders or boudaries and envisions himself as some kind of former Tsar..
Like Peter the Great..

Why doesn't he put on a uniform and go to the front lines and fight againstthe Ukraine army like he is forcing allt he other Russian conscripts to do?

Leaders LEAD by example not words.

MANY days and weeks I would be in my factory on the production floor physically doing the manual work next to one of the employees to help with the work load and move things along. It seemed normal to me. Some days I just filled in for an absent employee because we could not spare the hole in the production chain..

I don't see Putin doing anything like that. He hides behind others.. He wants others to do what he apparently is afraid himself to do..

THAT is DICTATORSHIP which is the lowest form of leadership..

So, besides him killing civilians of Ukraine needlessly, this is how I see Putin and I suspect Ribs sees him in some version of this light as well..

Re: “...putin should go down like Sadaam Hussein.”
Some years back, perhaps in 2008 or 2012, I was having a discussion with my aunt and trying to explain why I wouldn't be voting for the Republican presidential candidate. She just couldn't grasp the idea that I hated the candidates from *both* major parties and didn't want to support either. Then I had a brainstorm. "What would you do," I asked, "if your only two choices for President were Stalin and Hitler? Who would you vote for?"

That should do it. That's something she should understand. She'd lived through World War II after all and certainly knew how evil both leaders were.

But, no.

"Stalin," she said instantly. "Hitler killed my brother."

Heh. I didn't see THAT coming!

I tucked my tail between my legs and graciously bowed out of the conversation. There was no point in continuing. For her, the argument wasn't based on rationality but on emotion. It was personal... and I couldn't possibly change her mind.

I think that must be the case with you as well. Putin hasn't done anything to YOU or to anyone you know. In an intellectual discussion, you shouldn't have such strong feelings - but you do. You just want Putin dead. He's a Russian and you hate him.

I expect you or Zimbler might come back with, "But he's a bully and I hate bullies!"

Well... but is he? These days, we can't trust any of our news sources. They're all controlled by the lying, manipulative Left. In fact, recognizing this, I've gotten to the point where if Joe Biden wants something, I want the opposite. That's how irrational *I'VE* become. Except it's actually not irrational. I know that I'm being lied to constantly by my government and my newsrags, lied to about everything that matters. It's about the only thing I really can be sure of. Therefore, if Joe wants something and I'm not in a position to see for myself, it's likely in my interest to oppose him no matter what it is. .

But your logic seems to be rooted in emotion. You just hate Putin. And nevermind that, as with the scenario I posed to my aunt, it's a choice between the Russians and a bunch of Nazis. You're hellbent on defending the Nazis because they aren't the Russians. Personally, I'd rather the Russians beat the crap out of the Ukrainians. They're Nazis, after all - and they're in league with the Biden Crime Family.
