I think that must be the case with you as well. Putin hasn't done anything to YOU or to anyone you know. In an intellectual discussion, you shouldn't have such strong feelings - but you do. You just want Putin dead. He's a Russian and you hate him.

...nope, it's more like carrying out the garbage. I don't hate the garbage, but it has to go out. Putin is a tyrant hell bent on restoring Russia to it's ALLEGED greatness and doesn't care who or how many are killed to accomplish this. My only strong feeling is that I am right and he must go. If he wants to negotiate the terms of his departure I am open to it but at the end of the game he is checkmated and has no recourse.

Ya can't negotiate with a rabid dog.

Re: “...putin should go down like Sadaam Hussein.”
Some years back, perhaps in 2008 or 2012, I was having a discussion with my aunt and trying to explain why I wouldn't be voting for the Republican presidential candidate. She just couldn't grasp the idea that I hated the candidates from *both* major parties and didn't want to support either. Then I had a brainstorm. "What would you do," I asked, "if your only two choices for President were Stalin and Hitler? Who would you vote for?"

That should do it. That's something she should understand. She'd lived through World War II after all and certainly knew how evil both leaders were.

But, no.

"Stalin," she said instantly. "Hitler killed my brother."

Heh. I didn't see THAT coming!

I tucked my tail between my legs and graciously bowed out of the conversation. There was no point in continuing. For her, the argument wasn't based on rationality but on emotion. It was personal... and I couldn't possibly change her mind.

I think that must be the case with you as well. Putin hasn't done anything to YOU or to anyone you know. In an intellectual discussion, you shouldn't have such strong feelings - but you do. You just want Putin dead. He's a Russian and you hate him.

I expect you or Zimbler might come back with, "But he's a bully and I hate bullies!"

Well... but is he? These days, we can't trust any of our news sources. They're all controlled by the lying, manipulative Left. In fact, recognizing this, I've gotten to the point where if Joe Biden wants something, I want the opposite. That's how irrational *I'VE* become. Except it's actually not irrational. I know that I'm being lied to constantly by my government and my newsrags, lied to about everything that matters. It's about the only thing I really can be sure of. Therefore, if Joe wants something and I'm not in a position to see for myself, it's likely in my interest to oppose him no matter what it is. .

But your logic seems to be rooted in emotion. You just hate Putin. And nevermind that, as with the scenario I posed to my aunt, it's a choice between the Russians and a bunch of Nazis. You're hellbent on defending the Nazis because they aren't the Russians. Personally, I'd rather the Russians beat the crap out of the Ukrainians. They're Nazis, after all - and they're in league with the Biden Crime Family.
