Question is did you go through this “new” process or had to wait to show the card/passport, because that was the old way, and now no matter how many people were there it takes secs for each one to go through.
Also, JFK is THE airport and they can afford the machines and setup. Other airports may be behind the curve.
Last time we came through, returning from Norway, our GOES cards did little to speed things up, it was all in the timing, i guess, too many arrivals to where the GOES lines were nearly as bad as the rest...
