Re: “LVADs”
Here's something you should inquire about. It's even from clevelandclinic.org - local to you!

While LVADS do involve surgery, they go in the abdomen so it's relatively easy for the patients. For you, recovering from LVAD surgery would be a cakewalk.

CORRECTION: This article says it's not a cakewalk. Years ago I'd read about LVADs being implanted in the abdomen. But this newer article says they go in the chest, beneath the heart. So the recovery won't be easy at all. Sorry about that. Sad

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Re: “Anyway, I will be testing the waters so to speak and see how it goes.”
Remember that with CHF, your heart needs to rest. That will be hard for you, but it's important. When I was a kid, one of my neighbors, a guy in his 30s, had it. He'd been active... loved his catamaran... but suddenly was spending all his time sitting on his porch. This must have gone on for a year. Then, one day, he was gone. I found out from another neighbor that he'd gone on a backpacking trip, one that was supposed to be EASY. But he overdid it and that was the end of him.

Congestive Heart Failure isn't like jogging around the block where, if you're tired, you might just have to rest for a few minutes. CHF is quite the opposite. Exercise doesn't make the heart stronger and can actually hurt it. One of the few treatments I've read about, the insertion of a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) works by taking some of the strain off the heart and letting it heal. Resting might be what you most need.
