Were going to hold out for that next coming this fall, but with the wedding coming along, went for the current booster...

No plane rides for us for quite a while, pre-covid, but inlaws, were nailed even with current boosters on return trips from Hawaii, Mexico, masked, etc... Nasty bug!

One mistake, by someone, and here we are, dealing with Paxlovid's side effects... I've had worse colds, bronchitis, pneumonia over the years, but not at this age, making it a bit concerning.. Octogenarian survival!! So far as we know everyone else at the wedding is OK...

It’s like a cold and everyone may get it. Otoh, my doctor in NY suggested not taking again the current bivalent shot as it does not protect against what is circulating now. He said the new shot in the fall will target what is circulating.

Again, mask in public spaces indoors, wash hands. The rest you cannot control much. Rubbing shoulders with crowds outside is a risk. You can’t totally avoid it. Life must continue.

Wearing a mask on a 10 hour packed plane ride is taxing, multiple plane rides, fast boat island hoping rides, but it works.

Then again, if you are asymptomatic, you’ll never know.
