He commanded that we should earnestly pray for those who are in power over us and let God change their hearts and minds. Jesus did the same thing.
Will Christians stand up and fight if a civil war breaks out we must defend our families and homes against tyranny?
You can count on it.. But for us it is a last resort rather than a first.. Its not that we don't want to but what is taught in scripture that we try to go by. That doesn't make a lot of believers "girly men" as I know a bunch I would not tangle with even if I was younger.
Jesus said to live peaceably with ALL men. Pray for those in authority over you.. and for those who despitefully use you and persecute you for HIS name's sake.
IF my life is being threatened and my family then and only then will I resort to having to defend myself and my wife. Until that happens I have no approval from God to take up arms against my country or local government.. I am to pray for them and let GOD deal with their hearts and minds..
