Similar here, maybe later, but the majority of the family, other than myself went to parochial schools, got an excellent education, until it came to grandkids, by then, no more.. We did have one, very good priest, but now that he has passed, the remainder, we have no interest.. Local bishop is busy hiding from the abuse cases, bankruptcies, is an old hard right winger, taking the remainder down the drain... No connection any more, never will be.. Local parochial HS principal just resigned, vanished, was a trampier, it seems, must have seen the handwriting, gone...

What a mess, Francis has been the only bright bit in all of it...

Tax 'em all, shut down the TV preachers, stick a fork in 'em, they're done..

I read this yesterday.

I was born into a catholic family, went to parochial school, made the sacraments, and walked away from the church at 17 yo.

That said, Pope Francis has been a joy, for the most, he walks the walk.
When I see him I feel calmer.
Its strange, I take the good & leave thee rest.
