Ya gots to start being a little more cautious cuz ya ain't 45 anymore. Age has an interesting way of:
1. sneaking up on you
2. sapping you of youthful natural strength and athleticism

I was a five sport athlete in Ohio Big School division and was all state second team twice. Won a couple of big school football titles in my youth as well. Played Men's class A softball till I was 44 and was pretty good at that too. Had a .750 batting average for my career. That's why I was the lead off hitter because I could usually get on base and score.

All that has changed. I cannot run anymore. I can barely walk as it is. And my strength has waned from lack of weight lifting and training.

I am still fighting getting back to what was normal for me before all the medical stuff happened last year..

So, just a word of caution. As we get older we need to exercise a little more caution because we simply THINK we can do the same things we did when we were about 15 years younger or so.. Its a hard and humbling lesson to learn because I don;t like like to admit am not the athlete I once was and am in fact fairly weak without much stamina.. Hopefully it gets better but this same aging process is no respecter of persons. Ribs can tell you the same thing.

I am very glad you did not break a bone landing on rocks.

I am only concerned for your well being and Miz De's state of mind worrying about her super hero.. LOL!!!!!

Jes concerned about ya big guy..

Yer fellow aging pal..... Thumbs Up

Re: “I am glad to hear that you did not fracture anything”
Only my arm and ego were bruised! My arm looks like it was scratched, but it was an impact injury not a true scratch. The skin wasn't broken.

I took a second spill last night, after the others were all in bed. We've got the dog enclosed in the breakfast nook right now because his claws can scratch the heck out of a wood floor and the breakfast nook is ceramic tile, not wood. We've used 30" baby gates to seal the room's exits. Last night, I stepped over one of the gates and onto a small rug on the other side. As I was swinging my second leg over, the rug slid and I spun like a top. It would have entertaining for an audience! I'm glad there wasn't one.

Anyway, it was apparently the lucky day for clumsy me. I went down hard but, once again, wasn't injured! At some point, I'll have to start being more careful. Those falls weren't without effect and my blood thinner already promotes severe bruising. Most of my joints hurt now! When I was 30, I could have taken falls like those all day and thought nothing of them. Today it's a different story. Aw, you guys likely know what I'm talking about.
