From Coursera:

An MS in Engineering will involve more research-based coursework, as well as a thesis and/or comprehensive exam, and will take around two years to complete. An MEng will involve more practical coursework, likely will not require you to complete a thesis, and generally will take less time to finish than an MS degree.

In other words, the "MEng (rare)" that zzfart has taken to bragging about is simpler than the MS in Engineering your son has.

But I seriously doubt zz even has a degree. The guy is a compulsive liar who writes like a six year old.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Yes, education has absolutely been highly instrumental in the successful development of this country, BUT unfortunately, student achievement in the U.S. has been on the decline for decades, now. This decline really started to manifest itself after the federal government became more and more involved, along with the teacher unions, in trying to control the country's educational system. The latest crushing blow to student achievement was dealt by the federal government and the teacher unions by the unnecessary closures of schools ostensibly because of Covid-19. Many, many of this country's school districts are abject failures with no hope for recovery because government and its union toadies only know how to double down on failing policies after they have screwed everything up beyond recognition. The only hope for renewing student achievement across the board in this country is for parents to assert their rightful control of the education of their children, remove the political agendas of the government and the unions from poisoning our children, and demand accountability from the schools and the students.

My father earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry. He was a research chemist, a college professor in Chemistry and Physics, a Vice President for Academic Affairs of two universities, and a President of one college. I know a lot about our educational system through his experiences. And yes, I have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, a Masters degree in Taxation, and a CPA certification. As far as your Masters degree in Electrical Engineering being "rare" ... baloney ... one of my sons has a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Systems Engineering. You have to work hard to earn advanced degrees, but there is nothing "rare" about it.

You want to puff yourself up so you can sleep at night ... fine, go ahead ... but, do it in front of your mirror, lil' tyke ... because your debilitating personal insecurities are of no concern for the rest of us.
