That's really neat De!

I need to take all my Morgan Silver dollars to get an appraisal on them myself. Late 1800's thru early 1900's.

I have around 25 of them. I don't know why I am hanging on to them other than I would not mind if they stayed in the family or even got passed on to my oldest grandchildren who are in college. My youngest two in Virginia are still in elementary school..

II think my grandson who was the football player but no longer, will graduate with very high honors next year as he has the highest GPA in his class. Possibly the valedictorian.. He has been nationally recognized and inducted into some society for students who both play sports and yet have an extremely high GPA taking honors classes. He's a very bright young man but you would not know that to talk with him. He is pretty shy around people but he is very serious about his studies and grades. I am very proud of him. He decided to not play football this year and gave up his scholarship he received. My wife and I made up the difference for him as I am actually glad he is not going to wind up with a lifelong injury nagging at him or getting crippled like I am. It's what grandparents do if they can for their grandkids. I have also financially helped my granddaughter to a similar if not more of an extent with her tuition at her school.

When they graduate, we'll see what they owe on student loans and likely pay them off for them. No sense starting off life with a lead weight tied to yer leg..

We believe that God blessed us financially in our lives and for a reason. Those grandchildren which the Bible declares to be "Arrows in a quiver" are why we set aside funds to help. We'll see what their parents do but whatever the shortfall we will make it up..

Great job on the auction..That collection should be become a family heirloom for yer son one day!

Congrats on a great buy!

We had a few interesting auction wins this afternoon. For a change, the auction house allowed for same-day pickup. It wasn't a long drive, so that's what we did.

For $26 (plus 15%), we won two coin sets: • Five state quarters, • A 13-piece U.S. Mint Silver Proof Set from 2016.

The five state quarters are collectible, but I'm not a collector. They're only worth $1.25 to me. The other set has 1.473 troy ounces of fine silver (a second source says 1.33826 troy ounces) and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. At today's spot price, the silver alone is worth $35.35, so it was a good purchase. Silverrecyclers.com says the set sold for $52.95 when it was issued, and that "The 2016 S silver 13-piece proof set in its original government packaging is worth around $115."
