In my older age (far behind Ribit, older not ancient)
I have realized that doctors are no different than engineers, or any other group of educated people.
They make mistakes only they are playing with people's lives while all I can do is break a piece of equipment.
Hence they cannot afford to make mistakes.. I don't see any of them resurrecting the one they just killed, even if by accident and it sure ain't gonna make their family any happier... They are held to a higher standard and should be. Goes with the job. Iffen they don't like the accountability stay out of the profession..
IMO, lots of them should resign and do us all a favor.
I reminded my cardiologist I saw for the first time since after rehab a month ago, that I was not dumb or stupid and wanted answers to some basic questions. He did not like me stating that but I am not going to be talked down to by him or any other person who thinks they are so much higher than all the rest of us.
I guess I should put the PHD after my name and title and maybe that is required to get a little respect. I hope not.. My good friend who is a CPA has a PHD and he rarely signs his name with that behind it.
Really ain't no biggie. I just did not like being talked down to and when I have questions about something I would like answers.. I am polite and speak well so there is not a problem of understanding.. No need for a professional to be condescending..
I guess that is why I do not like many doctors. I have been around too many that are not really people persons..
I am a people person. I love to talk and learn things I do not know. Oh well. Sorry for the book.....
Got to go now. Business is calling..
