West Antarctic Ice Sheet collapse may be unavoidable, study finds
Scientists have found that there is little humanity can do to stop the melting and eventual collapse of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet, according to a new comprehensive study to predict global warming’s effect on the ice shelf. The report warns that the collapse of the ice sheet could raise sea levels by several feet, flooding many coastal communities in the coming centuries.
