Muzzle loading season [for deer] begins today. Regular firearms season starts in a week.

In New Hampshire, no license is required for residents hunting on their own land... so I may give that a shot (no pun intended.) There are certainly enough deer around.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Re: “My AR shoots .223 ammo. NOT 50 cal.. I suspect the vast majority of everyone else's shoot the same calibre.”
.223 is so small that many states don't even allow it to be used for deer. I think an expert would say that .223 CAN be used for deer -- if the hunter is close enough. That probably means less than 100 yards.

I'll stick to .30-06. I don't enjoy killing and prefer that the critters I shoot not suffer.
