With droopy eyelids and mouth agape, Mr. Trump stammers and mumbles. He squints. His arms flap. He shuffles his feet and wanders laggardly across the stage. A burst of laughter and applause erupts from the crowd as he feigns confusion by turning and pointing to invisible supporters, as if he does not realize his back is to them.

77-year-old Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized 80-year-old Joe Biden as too old to run for the US presidency. And Trump himself, however, has been subjected to a series of verbal slips lately.

Looking back at the most recent speeches of the 77-year-old Republican, the American media see "blunders", "inconsistencies" and "confusion", with the New York Times even claiming that even in the ranks of the Republican party itself, concerns about "reduced performance" are growing.

Last Sunday, Trump gave a speech in Sioux City, Iowa. He, however, was confused and probably thought he was in the town of Sioux Falls, whose residents he thanked during his speech. However, Sioux Falls is about 60 miles away from Sioux City, not in Iowa but in South Dakota.

In recent weeks, however, the 77-year-old former president and current candidate for the Republican party's presidential year, fell into other mistakes:

– He said that Viktor Orban is the leader of Turkey, while he is the prime minister of Hungary.

– He said that he himself has defeated Barack Obama in an election contest, while he had defeated Hillary Clinton.

– He said that Hungary shares a border with Russia and that the windmills, for some reason, "drive" the whales crazy.

- He called Lebanon's Hezbollah, which is a terrorist organization according to the US, "very smart."

– And when he referred to the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, he called it… hummus.

"This Trump is different from the one in 2015 and 2016. It's sad to see him," comments the 45-year-old governor of Florida, Ron de Sandis, who is also vying for the Republican presidential nomination against Trump on the road . towards the 2024 elections.
