Unlike the Federal government, California can't just print money on a whim. It has to tax and sell bonds. As the state's debt mounts, the rate it offers on those bonds has to climb. And as for the taxpayers, they're abandoning the state in droves. California is a state with SERIOUS financial problems! That's probably why Newsom doesn't want to be its governor for much longer. Why deal with such things when, as President, there is no limit to what he can spend?

Only an ignorant moron would ask such a stupid question.

It doesn't cost the STATE one freaking dime..

The taxpayers that actually pay taxes whether income or Real estate are the ones who will be footing this added expense of passing out money like it is candy...

No wonder the motto for California is "The Bankrupt State"
or should be....
