If I operated that way, I'd have to stay the heck away from auctions - because I'd be buying ten times as much as I do. Many of these auctions include incredible things, often going for hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars. It takes a little discipline to weed them out except when they're truly undervalued.

Just a few days ago, there was a nice 18K gold pendant that I was keen on. My wife pointed out how small it was - based on a single photo showing it being held between a woman's two fingers - and I brought my ceiling price down by about $20. When it later topped my $105 ceiling, I stopped bidding and watched it go for $140. IMO, the buyer overpaid - but I'll never know. You have to have discipline and trust the research you've done beforehand or these auctions will break you.

Do all your purchases HAVE to be smart?? If I want something I don't care what it's worth or anything like that. I buy it because I like it and I want it..

My daughters can figure out later whether they keep the things me and miz micro have bought over our lifetimes.

Buy what YA want iffen you like it and don't worry about what it's worth. Ya has one limited time lifespan here on planet earth so just enjoy it while ya still has time...

I like those rings.. You guys sound like us. The only thing we agree on is what Miz Micro wants.. lol!!!!
