The House passed legislation to avert a government shutdown after Democrats rescued a temporary spending plan that many Republicans opposed.
Tuesday, November 14, 2023 5:57 PM ET

The vote was 336 to 95, clearing the two-thirds threshold required for passage. Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the majority leader, told reporters that he wanted the Senate to vote on the bill “as soon as possible.”
