Except,
that as you and I both know there will ALWAYS be exemptions and exceptions for the 'rich and infamous and politically well connected' so's their offspring don't have to rub elbows with the unwashed masses.

I don't think any 'mandatory service' should be required.

Why military? There are plenty of other ways for people to serve their country.

In Virginia, there's a requirement for students to perform community service work in order to graduate. It angers me to no end - because it amounts to slavery. You see, not everyone has to do it. Only kids.

But if service is required of EVERYONE, then I'm in favor of it.
