Exactly. In fact, this you've just described the chief problem I have with ribit's and Zimbler's positions. Neither seems to care about the high expense of fighting an protracted war, one where the United States derives little benefit. Ukraine is Vietnam all over again, in my opinion. Did we learn nothing?

If fending off Russia would cost the west a pittance, I'd be a little more supportive. But that's not the case. The cost per capita is in the hundreds of dollars - too much! - for which we derive little except a depleted stockpile of armaments and ammo.

China must be laughing its ass off.
