There were three auctions tonight, and we won very few items. This auction lot was impressive, but I'm starting to wonder if I bid more on emotion than sense. (But how many chances do you get to buy a really BIG and complete fossil, much less two?) It was $202, plus a 20% premium, so $242.40. It'll be my Christmas present to myself.

The smaller fish is Mioplosus labracoides, a vicious predator that swam between 34 and 56 million years ago.

The larger fish isn't identified, so I'll have to do some research. It's a big boy. The frame is 14.75” x 28.25”.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
