The 2023 Orange Bowl is quickly turning into one that nobody on either the Georgia Bulldogs or the Florida State Seminoles has any enthusiasm for.
According to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, the Orange Bowl has canceled its news conference with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and Florida State head coach Mike Norvell. There's no word yet on why the conference was canceled.
Florida State went 13-0 and won the ACC Championship Game on Saturday, but were snubbed by the College Football Playoff despite being one of only three unbeaten Power Five teams. The decision led Norvell and many others at Florida State to criticize the entire process and question the point of playing games in the first place.
Some users in the comments agree with the sentiment while others think the Seminoles are avoiding the game to hide that they didn't deserve to play in it.
"FSU is doing everything possible NOT to play this game. They know they are going to be completely exposed proving they were not the right choice for that 4th spot," one user replied.
"If I’m FSU I just don’t show up. But wait till kickoff to mess up the TV and ticket sales," wrote another.
"Why play the game. Games didn’t matter this year, why give them the ratings," a third wrote.
Will the Seminoles wind up playing the game or will they try to skip it?
