But most of the art at this and other auctions is on the up-and-up, though perhaps overpriced, including some by RELATIVELY prominent artists. There was a "Mixed Media" by Peter Max (who you'd definitely know if you were interested in art). It was described as "Mixed Media Acrylic on Lithography Hand Signed." And there was a signed lithograph by Matisse (whose name you probably know even if you aren't interested in art.) But "lithographs"... "prints"... "serigraphs"... "giclée"... these are all terms used in the art world to describe processes by which art is, as far as I'm concerned, "XEROXED." I'm only interested in originals.

Here's the Peter Max work - which sold for $1,500, and the Matisse - which sold for $200.

As you can tell, I am NOT into art.. My brain simply does not have an appreciation for it nor understanding of it..

Nevertheless, the name Picasso alone will make that piece of art very valuable. Did you see anything from Monet or Rembrandt???
