In my opinion, the author of this article is 'not too bright'.
It starts out with the idea that 'Mutual Assured Destruction' through nuclear weapons means the major powers will not go to war with each other . . . In my opinion, if Putin is backed into a small enough crack he will 'throw the bomb'. (In order to end putin's imperialistic designs, we need to find that fine line between having Russia's tail whomped, and Russia's annihilation.)
And then there is this :

Conventional militaries since 1945 have struggled to win decisive engagements against indigenous forces using such tactics. The French wars in Algeria and Indochina, the American war in Vietnam, the German experience in Yugoslavia in WWII, and America’s disastrous wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, to use but a few examples, all demonstrate the deep and profound difficulties faced by modern high-tech militaries against much less advanced indigenous forces utilizing insurgent tactics.
Israel’s ongoing struggle with Hamas is an excellent example of the problem. The Palestinians of the Gaza strip are impoverished. They have no air force, no tanks, and no navy. They are technologically overmatched by the Israelis. But Hamas is able to launch occasional attacks against Israeli forces and civilians utilizing low tech rockets, small arms, and explosives.

Who was funding the Viet-cong in Indochina? Who funded the Yugoslavian partisans in WWII? Iraq was a win, Afghanistan was twin disasters fomented by obozo and biden.
Hamas? Funded and armed by iran. (And enabled by various united nations and 'NGO' agencies.)
Iran also funded and prosecuted many attacks upon American Servicemen and women all across the Middle East.
Without iranian assistance many of the worlds trouble spots would not be trouble spots.
And we have Russian and Chinese imperialistic ambitions . . . Russia and China have also allied themselves against the United States and its allies.
Just as the axis of WWII helped bring along that World War . . . the imperialistic ambitions of Russia, China, Iran, and N. Korea have the potential to start another.
