Instead of wallowing in your usual ignorance, you really need to educate yourself, dearie.
This is Federalism in our Constitutional Republic. Federalism is the division and sharing of power between the national and state governments in the U.S. Constitution. Abortion is nowhere in The Constitution - period. Therefore, it is up to the states to decide how abortion will be dealt with and the voters of each state will get to weigh in on the issue. The voters of Texas did just that by electing their representatives who passed very restrictive abortion laws for the State of Texas, which is what the majority of Texans want. So, THAT is exactly what you are talking about when you constantly harp on about "democracy" - the people of Texas decided with their votes. What YOU want is for the federal government to force unrestricted abortion on everyone in all 50 states - THAT is BIG GOVERNMENT.
The beauty of Federalism is ... if you don't like the way things are done in one state ... fine ... move to another state that is more in keeping with your views. This is called FREEDOM, clo. Per the news, this woman is traveling to another state where she can have the abortion performed, which is her right to do so. The system worked as it should ... she petitioned the Texas courts, they ultimately said "no" in accordance with Texas law, and she then went to another state where they said "yes."
Your problem, clo, is that your idea of FREEDOM ... just like most Democrats ... entails YOU (or your Democrat betters) telling EVERYONE else what they can and can't do. That's not freedom - that's totalitarianism.
So, clo ... grow up, educate yourself, and quit being a hypocritical busybody who desperately feels the need to dictate your desires on everyone else.
