It's my wife's fifth day with Covid-19 and she may be starting to improve. I'm healthy, but I was seven days behind her when we both had it last year - so I continue to expect the worst. In all likelihood, I'll be sick for Christmas. While I've got natural immunity . . . so did she.

I had to go to the hospital today to get my bloody urine checked out. Blood in urine... it turns out... is not great news. The visit wasn't an emergency, but a walk-in thing. They confirmed the blood. There was also sediment... sediment like what I'd seen after my kidney stones. But there hadn't been any of the pain I'd felt in prior kidney stones episodes, so that was different. And the presence of blood was different.

The nurse had never heard of a kidney stone dissolving into sediment as mine appears to have done, but she'd also never had a patient with diabetes insipidus. Diabetes Insipidus causes frequent urination and frequent dehydration. Salt buildup can occur in the kidneys. The salt can crystalize, scrape a person up on its way to the bladder, and dissolve outside the kidney.

That's my theory anyway and I'm sticking to it.

Now, I'm also taking warfarin - a powerful blood thinner - every day. And, last Thursday, I tested too high. In other words, my blood is too thin right now. It's supposed to measure between 2.0 and 3.0 but was a 3.1. I got home and tested it again. Today it's 3.3. That's even worse.

So, I've got a perfect storm of sorts on my hands. Dehydration caused a stone and cut me up at the same time my blood's clotting factor is exceptionally poor. "Lots of blood" is how the nurse put it. It's night now and I'm still bleeding.

One last thing:

On the drive home, my wife asked if we could stop by the older house to retrieve the Covid-19 Test Kits. Yup. You guessed it. She's now tested positive for the second time in 14 months. I'll probably have it as well in a week to ten days.

Time to find my iodine and Neti-pot, I guess. And to resume daily doses of Ivermectin - which, by the way, interferes with the performance of warfarin. It's kind of fun the way all these medical issues and treatments are so intertwined.
