Covid #2, which is what I've currently got, already differs from Covid #1, which I had in October 2022, in that it is far more aggressive in its attack on the esophagus. I woke at 0430 coughing up a LOT of phlegm. Fortunately, because it is in the esophagus, it dislodged itself easily. There is no racking cough or wheezing - that's what you'd expect if the infection was in the trachea or lungs.

Covid #1 gave me a cough and sore throat for exactly one day, followed by severe body aches for exactly one day. Covid #2 hasn't caused any of that. Like #1, #2 has given me a runny nose, though not AS MUCH of a runny nose - by which I mean that it isn't actually dripping though it is congested. I'm blowing my nose often.

Which of the two is more severe? It's too early to say; I'm only on Day 3. I think length of stay is going to play a major role in that determination. My wife's recent Covid bout ran its course in just seven days, which is three days less than either of us experienced with Covid #1. I'm hoping for a similar result. But, at the moment, I get the impression that #2 is taking root in a way that #1 never did.

Am I correct that micro and CTJ are the only other ones here who've had Covid? Or are they just the only other ones who ever tested themselves to see if they had it? (If you've caught colds or had hay fever but didn't take a test, then you really don't know what you had.) As I mentioned once before, we have a 20-pack of Covid test kits, so we aren't disinclined to test whenever we get sick... which isn't often.
