You're absolutely correct, micro ... Cincinnati is a really great addition for the Big 12 in more ways than one. And that's something I think a lot of people overlook when assessing the NCAA conferences - football isn't the only game in town. Yeah, yeah ... I know ... football brings in more money than the other sports - and, MONEY is the primary motivator (maybe the ONLY motivator, unfortunately) for the NCAA, these days - BUT, basketball is a premiere, money-making sport, as well.
FSU is thinking about spending bazillions to extricate itself from the ACC because it contains weaker teams across the board in football. BUT,the ACC is arguably The Toughest Basketball Conference in the country. Maybe FSU should step back and take time to enjoy that it is a member of a fantastic basketball conference and try to figure out how it can help the other schools in its conference to improve their football teams.
AND MAYBE, all of the conniving, money-grubbing NCAA sports programs will quit trying to transform their college teams into professional sports franchises and make college sports more enjoyable for everyone, again, eh? Yeah ... right. They're already there.

Looks like on Tuesday the Longhorns and Bearcats face each other on the Basketball court. They both have good teams
and is the first time these teams have ever played each other.. (I think) Should be a good contest..
Our basketball program is ahead of the football program talent-wise so this could be a really nip and tuck battle.
