Wind is still gusting strong, here. Supposedly, it's blowing in a cold front that will drop our temperatures this weekend down into the teens and twenties. I realize that isn't all that cold for you Northerners, but that is cold enough for us, thank you very much!

That was better than expected. We had no power outages, though there's still time. The heavy snowfall ended sooner than expected, as did the freezing rain that followed. The winds were high but the biggest gusts were few and far between.

The rain did not disappoint: Heavy and warm. Looking out before sunrise, most of the accumulated snow seems to have vanished in a night of torrential 40+° showers. I bet there's isolated flooding, but flooding can't touch me up here. It CAN wash out roads and parts of the community. We have a sad and sometimes tragic history of that.

The only other question is the trees. With so many, their loss is a certainty, but they're only a problem if they block the driveway. But I don't know yet, so . . . so far though, so good!
