Re: “Its a lot cheaper to drive than his full sized Ram pickup truck so he drives the cycle.”
My brother-in-law was killed on his motorcycle a couple of years ago. My brother's best friend was killed on his motorcycle 20 years ago. An Internet friend I knew in the 80s was killed on his motorcycle just a block away from his home - on a suburban street. He'd become a father a month or two before. A computer guy who worked at my company was hit by a car while riding his bike in 2002 and broke his neck. He had a painful recovery, but he lived! In 2008 he was hit again. That time he died.

I used to ride a motorcycle. I quit when, at a stoplight, the guy alongside me rolled down his window and told me that the car behind me had changed into my lane and missed me by about a foot. I never saw it. That close call really made me think.

I intend to get a motorcycle again one day, if I find the right price. But it will be used off-road. Competing with cars while sitting on a bike is too risky, in my opinion. One accident, at almost any speed, and you're badly hurt or dead.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

eggzactly !

On another note, my son in law bought a nice 1100 cc Honda motorcycle to ride to his High School where he teaches and back home. Its a big bike.. He has a high windshield on it to prevent the wind from blowing in his face. Its a lot cheaper to drive than his full sized Ram pickup truck so he drives the cycle.

Personally I think he's few donuts shy of a dozen but its no skin off my nose. I could see it in later spring temps but not in frigid temps like we have here now.

I think I have lost my sense of adventure in my later years.......
