I agree with you completely. I really do not like motorcycles personally and would never ride one for any reason. Too many bad things can happen that nobody thinks is ever going to happen to them. I prefer safety, at least as much as I can get so I stick with Cars and small SUV's.

I kinda lost my adventurist spirit a decade ago when I realized I was not superman.
I'm kinda losing the interest in driving on longer trips also. In all likelihood that's partially caused by all the medical things going on and I just don't have the stamina I did before all this started.

So I have some decisions to make although miz micro likes the income I bring in. I may have to talk to my financial planner and see what other income sources I can tap to replace some of my consulting income so I can slow way down.

She ain't gonna like it but that's the way it goes. I think after 50 years of supporting her I deserve to slow down a little.. So I'll have to see about coming to a slower oace and keeping a few special accounts.

Re: “Its a lot cheaper to drive than his full sized Ram pickup truck so he drives the cycle.”
My brother-in-law was killed on his motorcycle a couple of years ago. My brother's best friend was killed on his motorcycle 20 years ago. An Internet friend I knew in the 80s was killed on his motorcycle just a block away from his home - on a suburban street. He'd become a father a month or two before. A computer guy who worked at my company was hit by a car while riding his bike in 2002 and broke his neck. He had a painful recovery, but he lived! In 2008 he was hit again. That time he died.

I used to ride a motorcycle. I quit when, at a stoplight, the guy alongside me rolled down his window and told me that the car behind me had changed into my lane and missed me by about a foot. I never saw it. That close call really made me think.

I intend to get a motorcycle again one day, if I find the right price. But it will be used off-road. Competing with cars while sitting on a bike is too risky, in my opinion. One accident, at almost any speed, and you're badly hurt or dead.
