it's true.
Actually, there are some places I know up here who in the '70s actually would over a weekend take a truck and go down to Georgia and load up with fresh fruits and some veggies and drive back overnight to stock their roadside stand.
That place is now known as Jungle Jim's and it took off like a rocket growing phenomenally into some very large stores carrying all kinds of foods from everywhere but especially fresh fruits from the south. Its quite a place.
An employee of mine's wife worked for Jim when he opened his first real store and was his personal secretary and office manager for over 35 years. When she turned 65 she retired and Jim opened up a safe in his office and pulled out half a million dollars in cash he had saved for her all along..
He is one of the nicest people and good to his employees I have ever known. I was very happy for her husband who worked for me and that kind act by Jim allowed them to retire comfortably..
Ya just don;t hear of stories like that very often and this one is factual. I shop at Jim's store today still and he is still living.. We became friends some decades ago. Most humble man you would ever meet..
