De

My condolences. The passing of family never gets easier even though we know it is coming. I have one uncle still living that is of my parents generation. He was a lifelong service member for the Air National Guard. Flight engineer.

He was always my favorite relative and still is. Always humble, quiet, nice, and yet he is extremely intelligent and spent his life doing covert ops for the government.

I have TWO of the greatest generation left in Him and my Dad's younger sister in Dallas. She is in her very late 80's now. She also is a kind and wonderful person and we talked weekly for years..

When this generation passes it is a LOSS on a big scale.
They were survivors and determined. They still enjoyed their life even though they endured hardships.
They taught us by their actions more than their words.

I miss my parents. I wish my mother was still here because I could talk with her. She always understood.

I am sure you also had familial support and encouragement as well.

Again,
I am sorry for your loss. I know you will miss her..

My best,
micro...

Re: “My youngest aunt died on January 2nd.”That was Gen. I found out yesterday that her older sister Rose died Sunday, January 28th, of a suspected heart attack. She was 95 and, at least, went the way most of us would want: Unexpectedly and while sleeping. None of her siblings had such an easy exit.

My paternal grandfather had nine children that survived to adulthood. Now, just one remains: my Aunt Mary. She's an Air Force colonel, like my dad. She's been suffering from severe dementia and has been in the care of a live-in attendant for several years. Mary is 98 and was expected to pass last year but somehow 'soldiered' on. Meanwhile, her two younger sisters have just died.

They were wonderful people, all, and I'll miss them. Talk about the end of an era...
