Re: “Do y'all think DeSantis would make a good President say in 2028 ?”Your question is a little unclear. When you ask if he'd be a good President, I think that his ideas are excellent. But a good President has to be able to get Congress to pass his agenda, and I'm not at all sure DeSantis could do that. While some may describe DeSantis as a steamroller who gets his way, I don't think he's ever had to do that. The Florida legislature has been friendly and so has his constituency. Dealing with Congress and an increasingly fragmented U.S. population would be quite different.

Is DeSantis a charismatic leader who is going to sweet talk an uncooperative Congress into doing his bidding? I don't think so. He's not Reagan or Clinton, and he wouldn't be coming into office as a beloved Statesman backed by an adoring public, à la Ike.

The answer to this interpretation of your question is, therefore, "Maybe - depending on the makeup of Congress. But probably not."

Here I have to give him a resounding "NO!". DeSantis is a LOUSY campaigner, one of the worst I've seen for a politician who lacks scandal. He came into the campaign season with tons of momentum, and wow, did he ever lose it fast. His organization didn't know what it was doing and, seemingly, neither did he.

IMO, nominating DeSantis is a recipe for "loss." The only way he'd win the general election is if he faced someone even worse - which strikes me as unlikely.

I don't have a clue who Trump will choose as his running mate and I doubt highly the governor is interested in being Second dog, so that makes me wonder if like Governor Noem of South Dakota might be a good choice or if she is even remotely interested in the Washington Swamp..

I would not be and would not be surprised if she is not either.. So, who do we think would be Trump's VP ?
