I've become a fan of Nissin's Hot & Spicy bowl soups... a ramen dish... and have one for breakfast about every other day. Prices have jumped, though - from $1 recently to $1.50 - so I've been experimenting with other brands.

Maruchan makes something called "Yakisoba" chicken flavor noodles, running around 90¢ at Aldi's (a discount grocery store, in case you're not familiar with it.) There's no spice, but if I add a couple dozen drops of Pete's hot sauce, it's not bad at all.

And then there's Samyang's 2x Spicy Buldak Ramen, which takes heat to a new level. It's not actually supposed to be a soup. The directions call for draining off the water before adding the flavor packets, but I didn't do that. Still... *wow*. I read online that it's 10,000 Scoville Units, which isn't that bad. But folks on Reddit are saying it's more like 300,000 Scoville Unit peppers that they've eaten. And here are a couple of guys who apparently do this for a living giving it a try:

Amazon charges $3 each, but they're normally $1 at one of the stores here. Since the store is running its annual "Get 40% back!" sale this week they were 60¢ apiece. I bought ten.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
