Team Biden fearful ’embarrassing details’ of special counsel’s classified docs report will sting: report

President Joe Biden’s campaign is reportedly scared that the ongoing investigation into his mishandling of classified documents will hurt his reelection chances.
Biden is, as previously reported, currently being investigated by special counsel Robert Hur.
According to Axios, Biden’s team doesn’t expect any criminal charges to be filed against the president but is worried that Hur’s final report will contain embarrassing facts about him.
Moreover, the president’s team believes former President Donald Trump will use Hur’s report “to create equivalency with the felony charges [he himself] faces related to his keeping classified documents after his presidency,” Axios, a left-wing outlet, notes.
To be clear, both cases — Trump is also under investigation for committing the same crime — are virtually the same, except for one key difference.
The difference is that Trump took his batch of classified documents while president, i.e., while with the power to declassify the documents at a moment’s notice.
Biden, on the other hand, took his documents first as a senator and then later as a vice president. On both occasions, he lacked the authority to declassify anything.
The good news for conservatives is that the president’s aides believe Hur’s probe is complete and that he’ll be releasing his final report sometime soon.
Also good is that Attorney General Merrick Garland vowed last year that he’d make the report public “to the extent permissible under the law” to “explain [the] … decisions to prosecute or not prosecute, and their strategic decisions along the way.”
Hur will probably testify before Congress as well.
As for any embarrassing stuff in the report, this may include the president’s previous defense of his decision to store some of the classified documents in his garage.
“By the way, my Corvette is in a locked garage, so it’s not like they’re sitting out on the street,” he said last year.
The president’s team is also worried about the photos in the report.
“Any photos of [the president’s bad] storage practices could cause a political storm similar to what happened after the release of photos of Trump storing documents at Mar-a-Lago, including in a bathroom,” Axios reluctantly admits in its report.
Responding to Axios’ reporting, a number of conservatives cried foul over Biden being hit with nothing more than a report versus Trump, who was indicted over his own mishandling of classified documents.
