A new report released this week said that first lady Jill Biden was so irate after President Joe Biden embarrassed himself at a press conference that she berated him and his aides for allowing it to continue.
The report comes after Biden held an impromptu press conference on Thursday to address his mental fitness after the special counsel who was leading the criminal investigation into Biden’s handling of classified material said in his report that he would not prosecute Biden in part because he had serious memory issues.
During the event, Biden exploded at reporters who pointed out voters’ concerns about his age and declared that he was the most qualified person in America to be president. During the event, Biden mixed up the presidents of Egypt and Mexico, forgot the name of the church where his deceased son got the rosary that he wears every day, and forgot key details from the special counsel’s report.
Axios reported that, according to a new forthcoming book, Jill Biden erupted after a January 19, 2022, press conference that lasted two hours that was widely panned as embarrassing for the president.
“She had watched the news conference, and the look on her face told everyone in the room — from the president on down — that they had some explaining to do,” an excerpt from the book said. “This dressing down … illustrated the degree to which she is her husband’s fiercest protector.”
“Why didn’t anyone stop that?” she fumed as she demanded to know where his aides were and who was supposed to intercede on Biden’s behalf and end the press conference.

WHY didn't you stop him from running in 2020 when you knew damn well he wasn't competent to handle the pressure, then?! We all know why ... because YOU desperately wanted to be First Lady and didn't give a crap about the damage your feeble-minded husband would do to the country and the damage the pressures of the office would do to him, you grasping bitch. And now, he's even worse, but yet you persist in wanting him to run for re-election. Puhleeeeeeeease.
The reaction from Democrats to Biden’s press conference this week was mixed, with some rushing to Biden’s defense while others, most of them privately, signaled that Biden’s press conference did serious damage to his re-election campaign.
Longtime Democrat strategist and former Clinton White House aide Paul Begala said on CNN: “Look, I’m a Biden supporter. And I slept like a baby last night. I woke up every two hours crying and wet the bed.”
A Democrat House member, speaking anonymously, told NBC News that the special counsel’s assessment was a “nightmare” that “weakens President Biden electorally.”
“For Democrats, we’re in a grim situation,” the member said.
A Democrat operative also told NBC News that yesterday’s events were “beyond devastating,” adding: “It confirms every doubt and concern that voters have. If the only reason they didn’t charge him is because he’s too old to be charged, then how can he be President of the United States?”
Another Biden ally told the publication that it was the “worst day of his presidency.”
A Democrat strategist said in an interview with The Dispatch that the report from Hur, combined with Biden’s disastrous press conference, was “worse than an indictment,” while another called it “extremely bad.”
Axios reported that many senior Democrats were alarmed by Biden’s press conference, including a former Biden White House official, who called it “brutal.”
Another former Biden official said, “Taking the nomination away from Biden is like taking the car keys away from your parents.”
