The vote on the latest Ukraine aid bill is a tale of two GOPs. The 22 "Yes" votes that joined Democrats to send another $60 billion to Zelensky while our border gapes like an open wound have an average age of 68.95 years old.
The 26 Republicans who voted "No" have an average age of 58.78, more than a full DECADE younger. In a voting body where the minimum constitutional age is 35, that represents a clear generational divide. The six youngest Republican senators, and 12 of the youngest 14, all voted No.
Ten years ago, the vote on this bill would have been near-unanimous. A changing of the guard is happening in the Republican Party. The party of protecting America is rising,
the party of perpetual war is dying.
