A more interesting question would be "Can Europe afford to let Russia have Ukraine?"
At this point, even if 'The West' abandons Ukraine and 'lets Russia' conquer it . . . There is a fair chance the Ukrainians can just dig in and fight a purely defensive battle . . . Continuing to kill Russians as fast as Putin can draft them. Russia no longer has a tank force to speak of so an armored invasion is not going to fly.
By the way, Russia has a corruption index of 28, meaning they have more corruption than Ukraine at 33.
